The mission of Living Faith Church
is to make disciples of Jesus Christ
for the transformation of the world.
Living Faith will fulfill its mission
by connecting persons to God and
to each other through Jesus Christ.
We believe every person matters to God.
The most well-known verse in the Bible is John 3:16— “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Every person has infinite value to God - how do we know this! Because God acted on our behalf - through Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection - so that we can be set free from sin’s brokenness and emptiness, and experience God’s love personally.
We believe that God created every person
for connection—for relationship.
Our desire is to help every person connect with God through his Son, Jesus Christ. As we experience God’s unconditional love in Christ, we will be given the grace to love one another in genuine relationship.
The Church was created and is sustained by Jesus to be that place of connection. We are given gifts and grace to serve each other and serve the world in cooperation with Jesus and the kingdom of God.
We believe that Jesus perfectly reveals God to us.Jesus was controversial because he said things like this:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life” (John 8:12)
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would know my Father also. From now on you know him and have seen him” (John 14:6-7).
Jesus came to reveal God to us so that we can know God and understand God's purpose for our lives. God spoke to us through Jesus Christ; he perfectly reflects who God is (Hebrews 1:1-3).
Therefore it is our desire - our mission - to help every person connect with God so they will know this life-transforming relationship of new life in Jesus Christ.
When we accept God’s gift of connection in Christ, two things happen:
First, we are reconciled to God.
A relationship with God is impossible because our sin separates us from God - who is without sin. God's gift of forgiveness, and our acceptance of that gift, brings us into a living relationship with God. The Holy Spirit brings spiritual life when we were formerly spiritually dead to God (see John 3:3).
Second, the Holy Spirit begins to change us from the inside out.
There is literally a "new creation" taking place in us (2 Corinthians 5:17). Not only are we "reconciled" to God - "made right" with God; we start to change so that we reflect God's character. Our minds are transformed by this renewal process (Romans 12:1-2). We start to become "Christ-like."
Every relationship needs nurture in order to stay healthy and grow. We invite you to join us on this journey of “connection” with God and with others through his Son, Jesus Christ.
As you do this, you will discover your life can become a sacred journey every day.
We invite you to join us on this amazing journey together!
